Brian Marks is presently a math coach, specialist and coordinator in Newton, Massachusetts. He taught math for ten years before his present role.  He is the co-creator of YummyMath.com, a resource that provides teachers with engaging real world math problems.  His own childhood math education consisted of boring, meaningless skill and drill work.  He is interested in how we can increase student engagement, critical thinking and discourse in the math classroom.
